India to Set Up First Fish Hospital

The country’s first hospital to treat abnormalities and diseases in fish is set to come up in Kolkata by mid-2015.
The work has already started on the project. Nearly 60-65 kinds of disease and abnormality were found in fish in India and one reason why West Bengal slipped from the number one position in fish production was due to the fact that 10-20 per cent of them died of diseases.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 31st October

Government of India has decided to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 31, as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Divas’ or the National Integration Day. Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar said, government wants to create awareness about the contribution of Sardar Patel during India’s Independence Movement and towards ensuring national integration in India.

National Air Quality Index Launched

India has launched a new air quality index to help citizens understand complex pollution data and its implications for their health. A World Health Organization (WHO) study of 1,600 cities released in May found New Delhi had the world’s dirtiest air with an annual average of 153 micrograms of small particulates, known as PM2.5, per cubic metre.

The Nobel Peace Prize for 2014 – Kailash Satyarthi and Malala Yousafzay

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2014 is to be awarded to Kailash Satyarthi and Malala Yousafzay for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education. Children must go to school and not be financially exploited. In the poor countries of the world, 60% of the present population is under 25 years of age. It is a prerequisite for peaceful global development that the rights of children and young people be respected.

Latest Space Missions of India – Indian Space Research Organisation

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has submitted a plan for 58 space missions to be undertaken as a part of 12th Five Year Plan, 2012-17. A Plan outlay of Rs. 39,750 crore in 12th Five Year Plan period has been provisionally earmarked under the Plan budget for Space Programme. During the current year 2012-13, a sum of Rs. 5,615 crore has been allocated and the amount spent up to End October, 2012 is Rs.1,871.53 crore.

“ Road Traffic Act ” to replace Motor Vehicles Act, 1988

A new Road Traffic Act will be brought in the winter session of Parliament this year, which will be at par with international Acts in the Road Sector, this was held by the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari. He held that the prevailing Motor Vehicles Act of 1988 has outlasted its usefulness and in the fast changing traffic situation, a holistic Act is desirable.

Employment Scenario in India 2014-15

India is going through a very challenging phase right now. The rupee is riding on the low wave, inflation is plaguing industrial growth, the GDP of the country is truggling below five, the economy is on a jobless growth, and investor sentiment is not something to be proud of. The number of jobs available is at a pathetic low point and elasticity of employment is almost zero.
