Name of the Post: Scientist, Senior Personal Assistant, Stenographer
Number of Vacancies: 02-Posts.
Educational Qualification : Doctoral degree in Paleoclimatology, Stable Isotope geochemistry, Mass Spectrometry, Aquous Geochemistry, Igneous Petrology, Structure & Tectonics, Sedimentology, Mathematical modeling of climate/tectonics/ glaciers, Computational Seismology with M.Sc. or M.Tech or M.Phil in Geology/Geophysics/Physics/Chemistry with 1st division in M.Sc. and eight years of post doctoral experience with outstanding research publications of merit and leadership in the areas.
Pay Scale:Rs.15600-39100/-plus Grad Pay Rs.7600/-
Age Limit: The upper age limit is maximum 40 years .
Age Relaxation:
- Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST candidates by 5 years & OBC candidates by 3 years as per extant Rules. OBC candidates should bring along fresh non creamy layer certificate
- Application should be made in the prescribed proforma (attached) and presented on the date of interview.
Selection Process:Selection will be made on the basis of interview after screening/ shortlisting. The process include a written test.

Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology is an autonomous research organization of Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, undertaking advance level of research in all aspects of geology and geodynamics of the Himalaya. It has strong specialization in the areas of Petrology and Geochemistry, Structure and Tectonics, Sedimentology, Geomorphology, Glaciology, Magnetostratigraphy, Biostratigraphy, Paleontology, Quaternary Geology, Environment Geology, Seismology and Remote Sensing. The Institute also houses modern analytical laboratories. To encourage young students/researchers to make career in Earth Sciences, the Institute has doctoral program and offers Research Associateships to fresh Ph.D. students. WIHG, established in 1968 is an autonomous research Institute of the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. Previously named as the Institute of Himalayan Geology, it was renamed as the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology in memory of its founder-the late Prof. D.N. Wadia.
