Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV) is an autonomous organization under theMinistry of Health & F.W., Department of AYUSH, Govt. of India and is fully funded by the Government of India. It was registered with the Registrar Societies, Delhi Administration under Societies Registration Act, 1860 on 11th February 1988. It started functioning from the year 1991 at Dhanwantari Bhawan, Road No. 66, Punjabi Bagh (West), New Delhi – 110026.
Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth was established on 11th Feb., 1988 with one of the objectives of promoting knowledge of Ayurveda and started functioning since 1991. The Vidyapeeth initiated the course of Member of RAV with an effort to revive the traditional method of Gurukula system of informal education of India i.e., Guru Shishya Parampara to Ayurvedic graduates after formal education. As people are aware, the present classical texts of Ayurveda, Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, Ashtanga Hridaya etc. are believed to be the outcome of such informal education. This kind of study is lacking at present in the modern educational institutions where the courses are bound by fixed syllabus, duration of time and many subjects to learn.
In this course of RAV the student selects a particular text as per his specialization in post graduation and undertakes critical study of the text the tutelage of a scholar well versed in the text. The basic idea of this course is to provide in-depth knowledge and preparing young scholars proficient in texts of Ayurveda, who can become good teachers so that the tradition of education of Ayurvedic system of medicine, in its true sense, continues.
The Vidyapeeth in an effort to preserve special clinical practices and formulations possessed by Vaidyas, started the one-year course of Certificate of RAV in 1998. The Vaidyas are persuaded to teach their methods/skills of treatment to graduates of Ayurveda so that the secretly guarded techniques of medical treatment are transferred to younger generation.

Educational Qualification:
1) 12th class pass or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University.
2) Typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on computer.
Age: Between 18 to 25 years (relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates and Govt. Servants as per DoPT instructions). The Crucial date for determine the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications (from candidates) in RAV. (Not born before 16.09.1988 and not born after 16.09.1995).
Note:Central Govt. rules on reservation will be applicable. In case of OBC the caste certificate issued by the Competent Authority applicable for Centre Govt. will be accepted. Persons working in Govt./PSUs/Autonomous bodies and other allied Govt. sector employees should submit application through proper channel (i.e. through their employer).
Pay Scale: Selected candidates would be eligible to get the pay scale of around Rs.5200-Rs.20200/-Plus Grade Pay : Rs.1900/-.
Application Fees:A Demand Draft may be drawn in favour of Director, Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth payable at Delhi for Rs. 100/- for General and OBC candidates & Rs. 50/- for SC/ST and Women candidates
