Founded by Professor P.C. Mahalanobis in Kolkata on 17th December, 1931, the institute gained the status of an Institution of National Importance by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1959.

Project Title : “Formation and Characterization of Reverse Micelles or Water-in-Oil Microemulsions in Ionic Liquids”
Qualification: Candidates should possess MSc in relevant discipline from a recognized University or Board.
Desirbale : Experimental work on Colloid and Interface Science with special reference to self-organized surfactant systems.
Age Limit: Interested candidates who are appearing for this post should have the max.age of 35 years.
Pay Scale :Selected candidates would be eligible to get the pay scale of around Rs.13500-Rs.19,000/-P.m.
