Educational Qualification:
- Assistant Professor:Master Degree in relevant subject of Agriculture/Agricultural Engineering/Veterinary faculty with at least 55% marks (or its equivalent grade 6.50 in 10.00 scales) with good academic record. For the candidates having Master’s degree, NET (National Eligibility Test) shall remain compulsory along with one publication in NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi) rated referred journal for recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor and equivalent in the disciplines in which NET is conducted.
- Technical Assistant: Master’s degree in relevant subjects of Agriculture with at least 55% marks or 2.75/4.00 OCGA or 6.50/10.00 OGPA from any recognized University.
Pay Scale: Rs.15,600-39,100+ plus Grad Pay Rs.6,000/-
Age Limit: 35 Years for above posts as on the date of 01.07.2013. Relaxation in upper age limit to ST/ SC/OBC and women candidates will be provided as per C.G. Govt. Rules
Age Relaxation:
- Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST candidates by 5 years & OBC candidates by 3 years as per extant Rules. OBC candidates should bring along fresh non creamy layer certificate
- Application should be made in the prescribed proforma (attached) and presented on the date of interview.
Note :
(i) Assistant Professor/Scientist and Assistant Librarian: – There will be no age bar for the employees/officers of the Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur working in regular services/post.
(ii) Technical Assistant :- There will be no age limit for the employees/officers/ Contractual/Daily wagers workers of the Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur.
(iii) The Permanent/temporary/contractual employees of government of Chhattisgarh or any undertaking of government of Chhattisgarh will be entitled for age relaxation as per government rules.
(iv) As per the order of Govt. of Chhattisgarh the upper age limit for the bonafide resident of Chhattisgarh will be 40 years. However the age should not be above 45 years including all relaxation.
Selection Process: Eligible candidates shall have to undergo Interview depending upon the number of applications.
Application Fees: Rs.500/- for UR and OBC categories and Rs.250/-for ST&SC categories (subject to production of attested copy of the S.T./S.C. Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority of the State of Chhattisgarh) in shape of Bank Draft of any nationalized bank drawn in favour of “Registrar, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur” payable at Raipur within due date.

About the IGKV:
Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, is an autonomous, nonprofit, research and educational organization working for the up-liftment of farmer’s livelihood of Chhattisgarh. Education, Research and Extension are the major activities coordinated through agriculture and agricultural engineering faculties and Directorates of instruction, research and extension. Grant in aid is received from ICAR, State Government and international agencies.
It was established on 20 January 1987 at Raipur by the State Legislature (Act No. 4 of 1987) to provide a new dimension to the agriculture development of Chhattisgarh region of the State being known as “Rice Bowl”. The University was dedicated to perpetuate the memory of Indira Gandhi, the late Prime Minister of India. The main aims of the University are to making provision for education in agriculture and allied science, furthering the prosecution of research particularly in agriculture and allied sciences; undertaking field extension programmes for proper transfer of technology and such other purposes related to the aforesaid with the objective of improving the socio-economic level of rural people.
