Central Institution of Fisheries Technology Recruitment 2013 –Project Assistant 01-Post :Eligible candidates are invited to attend a walk-in-Interview with all relevant documents for the temporary post of Project Assistant (on contractual basis) to work in the field of Capture Fisheries project “Green Fishing Systems for Tropical Seas” funded by the National Fund for Basic, Strategic and Frontier Application Research in Agriculture (NFBSFARA), ICAR at Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Cochin, Kerala.
The Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT) set up in 1954 is the only national center in the country where research in all disciplines relating to fishing and fish processing is undertaken. The institute started functioning at Cochin in 1957. Research centers function at Veraval (Gujarat), Visakhapatnam (AP), Burla (Orissa), Mumbai (Maharashtra).
The Director with whom all the administrative and financial powers of the institute are vested heads the institute. A Senior Administrative Officer and Asst. Administrative Officers assist him in matters relating to general administration. Assistant Finance and Accounts Officers are looking after the financial and accounting aspects and also the internal audit of the institute. A technical officer attends to the technical matters including those connected with research projects handled by the institute. The Assistant Director (official language) heads the official language implementation section.

Educational Qualification :Graduation in fisheries/Marine Science/Zoology /Diploma in Mechanical Engg. or Marine Engg. or Naval Architecture or equivalent degrees from a recognized university from recognized University.
Desirable: Proficiency in computer data processing, computer and designing and drafting Auto CAD
Age Limit: Interested candidates who are appearing for this post should have the age of 35 years of men and 40 years of women as on the date of interview..
Age relaxation:Age relaxation of 3 year for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates is permissible.
Pay Scale: Selected candidates would be eligible to get the pay scale of around Rs. 10,000/- p.m. (consolidated).
Selection Process:Face to Face Interview.
Conditions:
- Registration will begin at 9.00 a.m.
- Age limit (as on 17.08.2013) : Below 35 years for men and 40 years for women.
- Age relaxation of 3 year for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates is permissible.
- Candidate must be willing to go onboard regularly in fishing vessels and also be ready to undertake long duration cruises in boats/ships for data collection/fishing and carry out research work in assigned areas and meet project deadlines
- Candidate should possess 1st class or 60% marks or equivalent overall GPA
- Candidate must be willing to travel widely.
- Candidates are required to submit attested copies of all the Certificates in support of their claims regarding age,educational qualifications, scheduled caste/scheduled tribe/OBC etc. The original certificates shall be produced for verification before the interview.
- Candidates should bring detailed bio-data affixing a recent passport size photograph.
- The selected candidate will be recruited on contract basis under ICAR norms. The post is purely temporary and is co-terminus with the project. The project duration is up to May 2016/17
- The candidate attending the interview should ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates for selection/test/appointment
- No TA/DA will pay to attend the interview.
- Canvassing in any form will render the candidate disqualified for the post.
