Educational Qualification:Candidates should have a
1.Graduate Degree in Electrical / Power Engineering OR equivalent from a recognised institution.
2. Officers holding analogous Posts on regular basis OR
With 2 years regular service in the Pay Band-4, Grade Pay – Rs.8900/-OR equivalent
OR
With 3 years regular service in the Pay Band-4, Grade Pay – Rs.8700/-OR equivalent
Desirable Qualification:
1. Experience in large public utilities with generation, transmission and distribution facilities.
2. Experience in development of Electricity Tariffs, Commercial Issues and power purchase agreements.

Pay Scale:Selected candidates would be eligible to get the pay scale of around Rs.37400-67000/- Plus Grade Pay Rs.10000/-
Age Limit: Candidates who are appearing for this post should have the max.age 55 years.
Note:The upper age limit is relaxable for the following specified categories to the extent indicated below.
i) By 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST communities.
ii) By 3 years for candidates belonging to OBC communities.
iii) By 5 years to candidates who have originally been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.

About the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC):
The Govt. of India had enacted the Electricity Regulatory Commissions Act, 1998 (No.14 of 1998) on 2nd July, 1998 with the objective of providing for the establishment of a Central Electricity Regulatory Commission and State Electricity Regulatory Commissions, rationalisation of electricity tariff, transparent policies regarding subsidies, promotion of efficient and environmentally benign policies and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
Shri P. D. Sudhakar joined the Commission as Chairman on 04.04.2011. He is a Gold Medalist from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur securing First Position in M.Sc.(Physics). He joined Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai for one year as a visiting Member, after completing M.Sc. (Physics). Later, he joined Indian Administrative Service in 1976. He has been awarded Diploma in Public Administration by Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi and M.Phil in Social Sciences by Punjab University, Chandigarh in 2007.
