Educational Qualification:Candidates should posses the Following qualification criteria given below:-

a. must be a permanent resident of the J&K State; and
b. must hold a Master’s Degree in Economics or Statistics or Commerce or Mathematics or M.Sc. of Indian Statistical Institute or Master of Computer Applications Degree from any recognised University/Institute.

Pay Scale:Selected candidates would be eligible to get the pay scale of around Rs.9300-34800 + Grade Pay 4800/- per month other allowances as per Rules per month.

Age Limit: Candidates who are appearing for this post should have the age 18 years and the upper age limit is 37 year.

Note:The upper age limit is relaxable for the following specified categories to the extent indicated below.

i) By 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST communities.
ii) By 3 years for candidates belonging to OBC communities.
iii) By 5 years to candidates who have originally been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.

Selection Process: The selection methodology will Based on Witten test and Interview Only.

Centre of Examination:
I. The Examination will be held at different centres located in Jammu and Srinagar cities.

II. The allotment of centres shall be at the sole discretion of the Commission and, once a centre is allotted to a candidate, neither any request for change of centre will be entertained, nor any such communication/request will be replied by the Commission.

Application Fee : Candidates have to pay cash payment of Rs.500/-(excluding processing charges of Rs.10/-) for OM candidates and Rs.250/- (excluding processing charges of Rs.10/) for reserved category candidates.

How To Apply: Candidates full fill  up the application and send to Commission’s Offices located at Polo Ground Srinagar/Resham Ghar Colony, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu on all working days (Monday to Friday) from 10.00 A.M to 4.00 P.M up to 11.10.2013

About the Jammu & Kashmir PSC  :

A Public Service Recruitment Board was set up on December 31, 1954. Subsequently with the coming into force of the “Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir State” on 26th of January 1957, “Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission” was established, under section 128 of the Constitution of J&K, on September 2, 1957, with Major General Yadev Nath Singh PVC, as it is first Chairman. 
Under section 129 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir the Chairman and the Members of the Public Service Commission are appointed by the Governor for a period of five years or till he attains the age of 65 years whichever is earlier.
