Sikkim PSC Recruitment 2013-For Sub-Inspector Post:Applications are invited from eligible local male candidates for filling up of 16(sixteen) posts of Sub-Inspector (Armed Police) on temporary regular basis in PB-2 of Rs.9300-34800 plus grade pay of Rs.3800/- in Sikkim (Armed Police), Government of Sikkim.Out of above 16 posts of Sub Inspector (Armed Police), 02 posts are reserved for Departmental candidates of Police Department under Government of Sikkim with more than 5 yrs. of unblemished service on regular establishment with other requisite qualifications.
Sikkim became an integral part of the Indian Union in May, 1975. The Constitutional Provision under Article 315 to have a Public Service Commission for the State was fulfilled by constituting a State Public Service Commission in the year 1978. The Public Commission has actually started functioning from 1982 with the appointment of the Chairman and deputation of the staff from the State Governmen
Thereafter the Commission started to function in different rented buildings. At present the State Public Service Commission is located in the class rooms of the Old West Point School Complex. Consequent upon the decision of the Union Public Service Commission to declare Gangtok as one of the Centres for conducting Union Public Service Commission Examinations, the Sikkim Public Service Commission has been entrusted with the work of conducting Union Public Service Commission examinations.

Selection Procedure : This examination is meant to serve as a screening test only: The marks obtained in the Preliminary examination by the candidate, who is declared qualified for admission to the Physical Endurance cum Physical Efficiency Test, will not be counted for determining his final order of merit. Based on performance in preliminary examination the number of candidates to be admitted in Physical Endurance cum Physical Efficiency Test will be approximately twelve to fifteen times the number of vacancies in different categories to be filled in for the said post. Only those candidates who are declared by the Commission to have qualified in the preliminary examination and Physical Endurance cum Physical Efficiency Test will be eligible for admission to the main examination.
Age:Interested candidates who are appearing for this post Should have attained the age of 18 years and should not exceed 25 years as on 1st August 2013.The maximum age limit is relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ ST/BL candidates, 4 years for MBC candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates. In case of Police Departmental candidates under Government of Sikkim in regular establishment, the maximum age is relaxed upto 45 years as on 1st August 2013.
